Niagara Tropics opened in 2013, founded by Pineapple Dan and Debbie Richard with one guiding principle:

Provide quality Southern‑style tropical plants and cold‑hardy palm trees — backed by unmatched customer support.

We operate as a seasonal, family‑run preorder palm house, offering FNGLA‑certified palms sourced specifically for rugged Canadian conditions. And because life gets busy, we work when you don’t. Our exclusive after‑hours and weekend Palm Warrior service ensures you always have access to the help you need.

This isn’t just a business, it’s our homestead, our passion, and our way of bringing a little sunshine north of the border.

Certified Quality

Customer Satisfaction

Certified Quality

Niagara Tropics sources Premium FNGLA‑certified and exotics from many reputable northern‑region Florida growers, where cooler nights and seasonal frost naturally harden the plants. This regional advantage produces sturdier, more resilient palms with better cold tolerance and stronger early‑season performance. These plants are hand picked and every shipment is accompanied by a State‑issued phytosanitary certificate confirming the plants have been inspected and verified pest‑free prior to leaving the nursery. Once the material arrives in Niagara, we inspect each palm for structure, health, from start to finish.
